Hi friends! In today’s sketchbook session, I’m playing with a variety of art supplies to create a colorful mixed media abstract. Using granulating watercolors, acrylic ink, colored pencils, Neocolor crayons, acrylic markers, and water-based markers, I’m layering color, texture, and mark making to see what interesting combinations emerge.

* Paint an abstract background with granulating watercolors
* Add vibrant color using acrylic ink
* Build layers with black ink and colored pencils
* Experiment with Neocolor crayons and wax resist
* Layer acrylic markers over mixed media
* Add transparent marker details for warmth
* Finish with playful patterns and mark making
