Hi friends! Today we’re playing in the sketchbook with color, patterns, shapes, and mixed media mark making. I’ve been creating a sketchbook specifically as a kind of personal library of marks, color palettes, doodles, patterns, and abstract ideas—and the best part is that none of it has to become a finished piece of art.
I’ll flip through some of the pages I’ve already made and then create a new double-page spread using Neo Color II crayons, colored pencils, and acrylic markers. This is a really low-pressure way to experiment with art supplies, discover color combinations, and simply play without worrying about whether the finished page is “good.”
