Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a relaxing watercolor exercise where I turn one large sheet into six small mixed media paintings using simple layers, loose color, and easy marks. This is a great way to loosen up, especially if you’re feeling stuck or don’t have a clear idea of what to create. There’s no sketching or planning required. I start with a soft watercolor base, build in a bit of contrast, and then finish with simple marks and doodles to bring my imagination to life. It’s low-pressure, beginner-friendly, and a nice reminder that making art doesn’t always have to be complicated to be satisfying.
