Hi friends! In today’s sketchbook session, I’m experimenting with Kwik Stix Tempera Paint Sticks to create a loose landscape inspired by a reference photo featuring a small cabin. Rather than trying to make an exact copy, I use the photo as inspiration and focus on creating a playful interpretation in my sketchbook. I’ve been wanting to spend more time exploring the possibilities of Kwik Stix, and this project felt like the perfect opportunity to see how they perform in a more painterly, mixed media approach.
After building the landscape with the tempera sticks, I finish the piece with a few marks and details using Neocolor II crayons and NeoArt sticks to add extra texture, color, and interest.
