Trying a DIY Stay Wet Acrylic Paint Palette (Plus a Simple Landscape Painting Demo)

Hi friends! In this video, I’m trying out a cheap DIY acrylic paint palette idea using small containers to create a simple, budget-friendly setup and see how well it actually works in practice. I was inspired by Sandi Hester’s approach to making a DIY acrylic palette, and I wanted to experiment with a version of my own to see if it’s easy to use and worth the effort. After setting it up, I use the palette to create a small, whimsical landscape in my sketchbook, layering with colored pencils and crayons to add detail and texture in a loose, folk-inspired style that’s very beginner-friendly. This is a full process video where I test the palette while painting, so you can see both how it performs and how I build up the piece step by step. Let me know if you’ve tried something like this or have your own favorite paint setup! Products mentioned: acrylic paint, small lidded containers (mini tupperware), sketchbook, colored pencils.
