Hi friends! In this video I’m painting a magical little cabin landscape in acrylic, sharing my full process from start to finish in my Canson mixed media sketchbook. I’m working with a limited palette of Liquitex and Creative Inspirations acrylic paints, including burnt sienna, phthalo blue, crimson, lemon yellow, and titanium white.
This whimsical landscape features an A-frame cabin, a flower field, and a garden, all painted in a colorful abstract impressionist style. I’m starting on a purple underpainting to show how even unexpected base colors can add depth, vibrancy, and harmony to the final piece. Throughout the process, I’m also focusing on pushing and pulling values to create contrast, balance, and a sense of light in the scene.
