Add Mixer Beads Acrylic Ink Art Supply Hack

Hey guys, it’s Kate, and I’m here today with a quick little Art Supply hack that I discovered recently. I stopped by Hobby Lobby and stumbled upon these beads, they’re four millimeters in size. I also found these clearance inks, Amsterdam inks to be exact, and they had been sitting on the shelf for a while.

Sometimes when I’m shaking inks, they just don’t want to mix well enough. So, I saw these beads and thought, “Hmm, opportunity!” I grabbed them, cut them, and put them in a little container I had on hand. I added two beads into each ink bottle to see how it would work, though I might up it to three later on. And let me tell you, it works like a charm to get those pigments off the bottom and help mix the color evenly.

I got these beads for a crazy deal at $1.49. Hobby Lobby always has surprises like this, so I highly recommend checking it out whenever you can. So, I went through all my paints, added these beads, and it probably took me about five minutes in total. Not a big deal at all.

But, here’s the funny part. As I was shaking the bottles to mix the inks, I got a little too enthusiastic with the third-to-last one. It flew right out of my hand and crashed into the wall and onto the floor! Thankfully, it didn’t break, but it was definitely a close call.

So, moral of the story: be careful when shaking your inks! You never know what might happen. Anyway, I hope this little hack is helpful for you if you want to give it a try. It seems to work well, and you can probably use ball bearings or anything you can find. Just make sure it’s big enough not to get sucked up into your dropper later on.

Keep creating, and thanks for watching!
