Let Go With Art Prompts! SIX Abstract Paintings With Acrylic Paint and Ink

Hi friends! I’m excited to share my latest art adventure with you. I’ve been exploring some prompts I created for myself, and today I’m diving into six of them with you.

First up, I pulled the keyword “Serene.” When I think of serenity, I envision tranquil blues and greens, like the calm of nature. So, I grabbed some soothing colors and got to work on my watercolor paper, using a silicone spreader to create lines and textures. I aimed for a thin layer to ensure quick drying.

Next, I drew the prompt “Dry Brush.” With some titanium white paint on my brush, I brushed liberally over some of the papers, adding contrast where possible.

Then came “Clouds.” I decided to use acrylic ink (Amsterdam Rose Pink) to paint cloudy pink blobs across the sheets.

Moving on to “Minimalism,” I opted for small, precise marks using a fine liner pen. The goal is to keep it simple and play! Any interpretation you want will work.

For “Add Dots,” I grabbed my Posca pen and added dots of pink ink throughout, and it matched very well with the Rose Pink acrylic ink that was already down.

Finally, I drew the prompt “Find a Curve and Add a Hard Angle.” Using a mixture of unbleached titanium and burnt sienna, I added warmth and contrast to the cool tones, emphasizing curves and angles to create depth.

To finish off, I added some black marks with lamp black paint, enhancing certain areas and adding a lot more contrast. I have recently discovered a love for adding more black to pages. It really makes things pop!

I hope you enjoy this video! And don’t forget to download the art prompt file on my free resources page and join along with me. Keep creating!
