Hey friends, it’s Kate! Hope you’re doing awesome today. I wanted to try something fun and intuitive with my art, so I divided my big paper into eight smaller sections. I’m gonna work pretty quickly and just let loose with some colors. Then, I’ll cut it up, and we can check out what we’ve created together.
Got my supplies ready – a styrofoam plate, some inks, and a huge Posca marker. Seriously, look at the tip on this thing, it’s massive! Let’s dive in with a fine liner and start with some flowy lines. No need to be too precious about it, just going with the flow.
Next up, let’s add some color! Starting with this burnt sienna ink, gonna spread it around and see where it takes us. Mixing up directions and adding some dots and lines for texture.
Time to add some accents with this metallic marker from Dollar Tree. Not as glittery as you’d think, but it is very opaque and richly colored. Making circles, lines, and dots to mix things up.
Switching it up with some teal ink now. Loving how vibrant this color is! Adding lines, circles, and filling in some spaces to create depth.
Now, let’s add some black for contrast. Using a fine-tipped marker, adding marks, lines, and shapes. It’s all about creating interesting patterns.
Big marker time! This thing is a beast, making bold black marks that really stand out. Adding some structure and definition to our composition.
Time for some white ink to add highlights. Using a brush and a little applicator, adding touches of white to bring out certain areas.
Okay, now for the finishing touch – gold ink! Dropping some gold circles using a makeshift stamp, it’s like magic on the paper.
To reveal our creations, I’ll peel off the tape and show you each section up close. They’re all unique and beautiful in their own way, and I can’t wait to see your favorite!
After drying and cutting, here they are! Aren’t they awesome? Each one tells its own story, and I am in love with the variety.
These mini artworks can be framed, turned into cards, or even scanned for larger prints. The possibilities are endless, and it’s all about having fun with your supplies and letting your imagination run wild.
Thanks for joining me on this creative journey today! Remember to keep experimenting and creating, whether it’s with inks or whatever else inspires you. Take care, and until next time, keep creating!
