My Favorite Free Tools

Sometimes you just find a gem of a tool on the internet, and that’s what this list is for. It might be something I use for organization, art ideas, photo references, and more! Feel free to browse some of my favorite art and productivity tools.

Photo References for Art

When I’m using photo references, I like to use photos that are not copyrighted so I know I have the rights to represent it in my artwork. These resources have beautiful photos and graphics, most of which are free to use without a paid license or attribution required (though I do still give attribution to reference photos in my YouTube videos). You can also print and use images for collage and other design projects.

Unsplash – a collection of mostly free to use and some Unsplash+ licensed photos

MorgueFile – a collection of over 400,000 free to use and copyright-free images

Pexels – a collection of tons of free images provided by contributors

Color Palettes and Color Ideas

I own several palettes of watercolor paint, and all of them I have been very pleased with! Depending on your goals, you may find one that best suits your needs.

Coolors – free color palette generator

Canva Color Palette Generator

Adobe – free color palette generator

Colormind – an AI color palette generator that can create palettes based on photos you upload

Productivity Software

I swear by Notion! I use and love it, and use the free version, though there is a premium version that is paid. You can also find tons of free and paid templates online.
